"Mom! Rebekah's eating poop!"

One afternoon I heard Sara gagging in the kitchen.  With the winter of sickness we have had in our family, my first thought was, "Oh no! She's sick AGAIN!"  I ran into the kitchen knowing I was going to find Sara throwing up.  I turned the corner to see this! Sara was next to Rebekah gagging. When Sara finally saw me she exclaimed, between gags, "Rebekah's eating poop!"

Fortunately, I saw a mushed up Oreo cookie in Rebekah's hand so my mind was quickly at ease.  I tried and tried to explain to Sara that it was NOT poop; it was only a cookie.  She did NOT believe me. Her gagging intensified as she ran off to the bathroom and began puking.

I began to take Rebekah's clothes off of her which had their fair share of mushed up cookies on it.  I was about to head upstairs to give her a bath when Sara came out of the bathroom.  I asked Sara if she would please wipe up the floor for me while I bathed Rebekah.  She took one look at the floor and ran back to the bathroom to throw up some more.  Luckily, Jacob had a strong enough stomach to clean the floor for me!

Sara still will not eat an Oreo cookie!

Library Times

We continue to frequent the amazing library for story times and special programs.  Rebekah now loves to get down and play while we are there.  This one particular day I saw her stand up to the puppet show area...I didn't know she could stand before that.  It's amazing how milestones happen when I'm not even prepared for them.

Sara's 4!

Little Miss Sara is now 4!  And she will tell you all about it too!  This girl loves to talk and she does a lot of it too!  She is really into the scripture stories right now and will tell you all about Nephi, Sariah, Laman & Lemuel, and Enos.  Those are her favorite right now.  Sara loves to play with Paw Patrols, color pictures, build with Legos, smother  mother Rebekah, help me in the kitchen, watch cartoons, read books, and talk!  She is a happy girl with a smile that will light up a room.  She loves to give people hugs and tell them how much she loves them-even people she hardly knows.  She runs to her primary teachers to tell them hi and give them hugs.  Unfortunately, she is beginning to get to be quite sassy as well and she will try to pout to get out of doing something.  She is stubborn, but so am I! ;)  Thankfully, her sweet side is more prevalent than her sassy side and we are hoping that will continue!

She was so excited to have her birthday dinner.  She is quite the picky eater and often goes without dinner because she refuses to try what we are having.  At first she requested boxed macaroni and cheese for dinner.  Then she changed her mind to "bread, just plain bread."  That's all she wanted.  With a lot of persuasion we convinced her to choose something else so she chose noodles and white sauce.  She was most excited for the dessert she chose...pink & purple mini cupcakes.

She loved her paw patrol set that Grandma & Grandpa Powell and us gave to her.  She exclaimed, "It's what I've always wanted!"

Sweet Sara is 3!

The day after Thanksgiving Sara turned 3!  When you ask her how old she is, she will count out her fingers saying, "1-2-3!!"  We celebrated her birthday over a course of a few days.  On her birthday she opened her gifts and we had dinner of her choice-noodles and white sauce.  We didn't have her purple heart cake with purple frosting until Sunday.  She didn't seem to mind waiting for us.  Sara loves paw patrols and littlest pet shops right now.  She enjoys coloring and making pictures with stickers.  Sara likes to help cook in the kitchen and she loves to be outside playing.  Sara seldom is quiet.  She loves to talk!  Her sweet smile and dimples melts me.  She likes us to call her "sunshine", a nickname given to her by Spring.  She thinks it is great to spend special time with Spring and Mary in the evening when they are supposed to be sleeping.  ;) Sara still loves to do puzzles and patiently works though difficult puzzles "all by myself!"

Daily Life with our Littles

These two love doing crafts together and painting has been a favorite this month.  They even rediscovered finger paint.  Trying to get all the enthusiasm for that over with now while it is still warm enough to paint outside.

Library visits are always a highlight.  I can usually get them to run any errand with me if I promise a trip to the library when we are done.  Gideon has speech at the library once a week as well so we get to enjoy the time playing and reading while he is in speech.
Jacob has become very good at pulling food out of they pantry and out of the recycling container.

 Already loving to play music.

He doesn't like it so much when all his siblings go outside to play and he is left inside.  We often find him looking out the windows "talking" to them.
 Puzzles are a daily happening.
Enjoying being outside for as long as the weather will allow it!

Library

Our library is such a lifesaver for me in so many ways.  It truly is an integral part of our family's lives.  The older kids love being able to pick the librarian's brains for book suggestions and they keep me busy picking up books they have reserved.  Story time is a welcome diversion from the cold and snowy days for the younger kiddos.  If I want to make a quick trip the library I have to be very stealthy or I will have all the kiddos clambering to join me and then it is anything but a "quick" trip. I'm grateful they love the library though.  Gideon has his weekly speech class at the library also so we get to play and read books while he is in speech.  It works out quite nicely!
