Space Derby

Thomas participated in the Space Derby at Pack Meeting. He had so much fun designing and painting his rocket. He decided he wanted a tiger rocket. I am so grateful that Joel enjoys working with him on these projects and that he allows Thomas to do the work on it so that he can have the feeling of accomplishment when it is completed. Thomas won 2nd place in the derby. He also was awarded about 6 beltloops and 5 academic/sports pins. He also earned his Outdoor Activity Award patch, Leave no Trace patch, 2 more silver arrow points, and his religious knot. He loves cub scouts and is always looking through his book for things he can work on and learn.

Our Little Lady

Spring turned 6 today. As I watched her throughout the day today I found myself in awe of the little lady she is becoming. When did I miss her growing up so much? She is an amazing girl. She is so helpful to me and her younger siblings. She is loving to them and very motherly. Her giggle and spunkiness are hard to miss! She loves to dance, sing, and flutter around the house. She loves to have her hair done, paint her nails, wear jewelry, and take time getting ready for the day. I don't know where that came from...definitely not from me! Her younger sisters will be blessed by her because she will be able to do things for them that mom doesn't do!

Spring is determined and hard working. I know she will get much out of life because she is dilligent and responsible. She has matured a great deal and has become a very polite and respectful young lady. She can be counted on for a laugh, smile, joke, and most of all...a big helping hand for me! I am so grateful she is obedient and has a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. She wants to do the right thing and she is perceptive to the Spirit. We love you, Spring! Happy Birthday!

For her birthday, Daddy surprised her this morning with flowers per their tradition he started last year. He was gone for church meetings when she woke up and she saw the flowers on the counter. She asked me, "Mom...are those my flowers from Daddy?" When I told her they were she smiled and said, "I knew he wouldn't forget!" After church we had her choice for lunch/dinner. We had cheese stuffed shells and french bread. For dessert...Texas Sheet cake..lots of chocolate because she just adores chocolate! Grandma and Grandpa Biggs and Aunt Emily were able to be here today as well so they celebrated with us. Spring loved opening her presents. She got a cute outfit for school from Aunt Emily and Aunt Tammy. She received Disneyland scrapbook supplies and pictures from their trip from Grandma and Grandpa so she could do her very own Disneyland scrapbook. She is planning to start that early tomorrow morning! From all of us she got exactly what she asked for...hair stuff! We gave her a organizing tote for her hair supplies and some cute new hair accesories (is that what they are called?). She said it was the perfect day.

Disneyland

This past week Grandma Biggs and Aunt Emily took Thomas and Spring to Disneyland. The kids had a great time and it has been so fun to hear them tell us all about the fun things they did and the great time they had with Grandma and Emily. I am sure we will continue to hear many more fun stories. One big surprise from the trip...Thomas is quite the daredevil. He loved the roller coasters and couldn't seem to get enough of them. He said his favorite was "Space Mountain." Grandma and Aunt Em were so kind with them and really helped them have a wonderful time. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Miller and Uncle David went with them for the 1st day as well. Thomas and Spring were able to make some very fun memories with them all. It is so fun to hear them tell us all about their trip.

Joshie...9 months old & loving life

Here are Joshua's 9 month pictures. He continues to bless our family with his happy and jovial personality. He really babbles a lot now. He loves to play peek-a-boo with anyone and everyone. We put a towel on his head and he will pull it off and we yell, "peek a boo" and he just laughs and laughs. Sometimes he laughs so hard he ends up falling over. He also throws EVERYTHING he gets his hands on. I am amazed at how far he can throw things. He will crawl to something, pick it up, sit up, throw it, and then crawl after it...then the cycle repeats itself. He is a great sleeper for us too. I consider myself so blessed that he is sleeping through the night because neither Sammy or Mary were doing this until they were almost a year old. It makes me smile when I get him out of his crib and he snuggles into my neck and pats my back giving big hugs. He brightens up all the rooms with his giggles and smiles. We love you, Joshie!

Just the Little Ones

Thomas and Spring are gone to Disneyland with Grandma Biggs and Aunt Emily this week so we just have the 3 little ones here. It is always so strange to not have everyone here with us. I haven't put new pictures on for a while so I thought I would post some new ones. Sammy gave himself a black eye a couple nights ago. He was supposed to be sleeping and he thought he heard us coming in to check on him so he ran and dove onto his bed. He dove a little too far though and flew right into his window sill. The pictures of his black eye are from today, 2 days after it happened.

Mary is slowly growing more hair but she still has so little of it and the front is very short but the back is getting longer. The other day I decided to try something new with her hair and it worked pretty well. She likes it and it looks more kept. If I just put little pigtails in her hair she will pull them out and then her hair stands straight out. At least this way she can't do that.

Joshua is getting so big and doing so many fun things. He can always be heard jabbering and making noises. He is always into something too. He watches the older ones and wants to do whatever they are doing. This includes having whatever snack they are all enjoying. He loves ice cream cones!

Biggs Family Reunion

Thomas, Spring, and Sammy went with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Emily to another Biggs' Family Reunion last week. They were home one day from our other reunion, long enough for me to do laundry and repack them, and then they were off. They went camping for this reunion at the same place that I used to go to Girls' Camp as a youth. They had so much fun and they keep telling us more and more of the things they did. Thomas went fishing with Grandpa and caught his first ever fish...a 15 inch rainbow trout. They cleaned and cooked it that day. This was a highlight for him. Spring loved playing with all the girls. She would tell Grandma that she was going to sit with the girls. Sammy found a new best friend in Kellan. Everyone told us how they were two peas in a pod. They loved playing rough and having fun. One time they were found on the top of a big woodpile. We are grateful they were able to spend this time with their extended cousins and family. Our children are truly blessed to have so much wonderful family.

Gotcha Em!

While we were at the park for the reunion I jumped on Emily's lap on the swing and we started trying to swing really high. I started to tell her that she couldn't make me laugh because I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Well, that just made us start to giggle. I got Joel's attention and he ran and got me a water bottle. So, I kept telling her how bad I had to go to the bathroom. Then I squirted the water all over her lap. Her reaction was priceless. As we were all laughing about it, Joel's mom noticed Sammy a few feet away...pants down going to the bathroom in the bark. It was priceless! I told Emily I was going to post this on You-Tube and my blog so I have to live up to my word! I love you, Em!

Biggs Family Reunion

We had a great time at our 1st Annual Biggs Bunch Reunion in Enoch, Utah last weekend. All of Joel's siblings (and families) with the exception of Tammy were able to be there. It was so much fun. There were 11 children with Thomas being the oldest. They always had someone to play with. I had so much fun watching the cousins play, laugh, and have fun together. It was also fun to watch Joel and his brothers play. We all enjoyed all the time we spent together. The guys all went golfing the first morning and Thomas and Christian went with them. Thomas has been waiting to play a round of golf since he has had lessons a few months ago. Then we went to a fun park to play, fly kites, have a waterfight, and a game of baseball. The following day we went on a hike at Cedar Breaks. It was beautiful and so fun to be together. That evening was Christian's baptism. We enjoyed spending Sunday together and having fun playing games. Monday we headed to St. George and spent some time at the temple visitor's center before heading back home. We are so grateful for wonderful family. There isn't anything better than being together with family. We look forward to our reunion next summer.
